IELTS listening pre-test
To do the listening test, download and print out the listening test booklet and the answer sheet. Also, download or just open the 4 recordings.

You should play the recording ONCE only. Answer the questions as you listen because you won't hear the recording a second time. Write your answers in the test booklet. At the end of the test you will have 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet.

Remember that clear handwriting is important. Unclear answers may not receive a mark. The listening test will take about 35 minutes + 10 minutes for the transfer of answers. Then check your mock test and calculate your band score!

IELTS reading pre-test
To do the reading test, download and print out the reading test booklet that you need, Academic or General Training, and the answer sheet (it's the same for both tests). You have 60 minutes to read the reading passages and answer 40 questions. You don't have extra time to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. You should do it during 60 minutes. Remember that clear handwriting is important. Unclear answers may not receive a mark.

IELTS writing pre-test
There are two tasks on this question paper. Task 2 contributes twice as much as Task 1 to the Writing score. You should spend approximately 20 minutes on Writing Task 1 and approximately 40 minutes on Writing Task 2. During the real IELTS test (paper-based IELTS), you will write your essays by hand. But we would like you to submit your essays in a word document. So you will need to type them (like in the computer-based IELTS test).

Task 1 You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write at least 150 words. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. See the graph below.

Task 2 You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic:

QUESTIONS:
Part 1 (Answer the following questions without preparation. Allow 15-30 seconds per answer.)
Tell me a little about the place where you live.
Do you like living there? Why? Why not?
What's you favourite flavour of chocolate?
Why do you think chocolate is popular all over the world?
Are you interested in films about outer space and stars?
Do you want to travel in the outer space?

Part 2 (Take paper and a pencil. You can make some notes while preparing your answer. Read the prompts below. You have 1 minute to prepare your answer and 2 minutes to speak. Record your answer.)
Describe a place you visited that was affected by air pollution. You should say:
  • where it is and when you visited this place
  • why the air was not good
  • how this place was affected
  • how you felt about it
Part 3 (Answer the following questions without preparation. Allow up to 1 minute per answer.)
Do you think the wind has any effect on pollution?
Is there more pollution now than in the past?
What can factories and plants do to reduce pollution?

When you know your current band score, you'll see whether or not you need to improve your score.
